What to do if you’ve been in a car accident:
- Move out of the way of traffic and turn on your hazard lights.
- Call the police if there are any injuries or if there is extensive damage to your car. You should also call the police if the accident was caused by a driver who left the scene without stopping.
- Do not discuss the accident with anyone other than the police, your agent, and your Insurance Company Claim professional.
- Exchange necessary information such as names, driver’s license numbers, phone numbers, license plate numbers, insurance company and policy numbers with the other driver(s). Take pictures with your smartphone if you can do so safely.
